Favor Runners support Texans during their busiest times of life. We’ve curated some tips to help you maximize your earning potential during busy holiday seasons (and every day)!
1. Check your Early Assignments status
When Early Assignments are turned on under Settings in the Runner app, you’ll be eligible for a new Favor as soon as you tap Leaving Store for most orders. That means you can get started on your next order sooner, which can minimize your downtime and maximize your earnings!
Keep in mind, if you turn off Early Assignments, you will not be eligible for a new Favor until you tap At House for in-person deliveries or Leave at Door for contactless deliveries.
2. Find promos near you
Promos make running even more rewarding and are released in neighborhoods across the state every week! Between per-Favor guarantees, neighborhood bonuses, and other promo types, you can stack some serious cash. You can review all promo types in the Runner Help Center.
You can view promos on the home screen or in the Promos section of the Runner app. We also encourage you to keep an eye on notifications so you can check out nearby promos as soon as they drop.
3. Accept more to earn more
Passing on a Favor to get a new one can be a game of chance — you don’t know what you’ll be offered next, but you do know you have one available right now! If your goal is to make the most money, the easiest step you can take is to accept as many Favors as possible. Runners with higher acceptance rates tend to make the most money!
Fun fact: Runners with an acceptance rate of 80% or more in areas with promos earn nearly 2X more per hour than those who exclusively deliver H-E-B home deliveries.*
4. Consider ways to provide excellent customer service
There are many ways you can provide top-tier customer service, which may encourage customers to tip more! Asking customers over text if they need extra sauces, utensils, napkins, etc. is a simple way to provide great service. Even more, when buying flower bouquets, specific requests, or items that require a substitution, customers appreciate it when you text them photos to verify they’re happy with the selection. This small step upfront can have big benefits.
Our next suggestion is to text your customer when leaving the store or restaurant to let them know you’re on your way and ask if there are any gate or door codes that would be helpful for the delivery. Many Runners save special message templates for apartment deliveries that request gate codes and building locations ahead of time. When you have the information before you arrive, you can quickly drop off the order and move on to the next Favor!
Finally, checking the accuracy of an order, and using insulated bags to ensure freshness, can improve customer satisfaction, which may be reflected in their tips!
5. Review your ID Check Deliveries settings
Did you know Runners who are 21 or older are eligible to deliver orders that require an ID check, including alcohol? The more types of Favors you have at your fingertips, the more opportunities you have to earn!
Fun fact: Alcohol orders often have higher tips than non-alcohol orders.*
You can verify your ID Check Deliveries status under Settings in the Runner app. If you’re not comfortable delivering these orders, don’t worry! You’ll never be required to deliver alcohol or other age-restricted items, and there are plenty of ways to increase your earning potential outside of these Favors.
6. Keep an eye on neighborhood statuses
Being in the right place at the right time can help you increase your earnings. When you log into the Runner app, you can see a birds-eye view of the neighborhood map to know which areas near you are Busy or Slow. When you see a Busy neighborhood, that means there are plenty of customers ready to get their orders delivered. More customers to help means more money for you!
7. Join a Runner Facebook Group
Did you know Favor has regional Runner Facebook Groups? It’s true! Runners are active in the Favor Runner Facebook Groups every day and share tips and tricks for increasing earnings. You can find your local group in the Runner Help Center.
