Welcome to Runner Pay Explained, your guide to everything from understanding customer tips and tracking the status of your payments to elevating your earning potential with promos and getting your money faster with Instant Pay.

Now that you’ve got the basics down, it’s time to dive into the good stuff — getting money out of your Runner account and into your hands!

Weekly pay

By default, earnings are automatically deposited into your checking account on a weekly basis. While processing times vary from bank to bank, weekly deposits are typically initiated on Monday and available by the end of the day on Wednesday.

Best of all, weekly pay is completely free and easy to use. Once you’ve set up your Runner account with your checking account information, you’re good to go!

Instant Pay

Don’t want to wait for payday? Instant Pay gives you the flexibility to deposit your earnings when it works best for you.

To use Instant Pay, you must connect a debit card to your Runner account. Your debit card can be linked to the same checking account you use for weekly deposits, but you must connect these accounts separately in the Runner app.

While most bank-issued debit cards are accepted, some prepaid debit cards cannot be used for Instant Pay transfers. You will receive an error message if your card is not supported.

Please note that Favor will place a temporary 48-hour hold on all newly added or updated debit cards for Instant Pay deposits. This allows Favor to verify the information and prevent any potential fraudulent activity.

To connect a debit card and start using Instant Pay:

  • Log in to the Runner app
  • Tap the Runner menu icon (three lines) in the top left corner of the screen
  • Select Settings
  • Select Deposit Preferences
  • Tap Add a Debit Card
  • Enter your debit card information

Once you’ve connected your card, you can use Instant Pay to deposit available earnings anytime you want for just $0.99 — and have cash to spend in 30 minutes or less.

Want to skip the fee? You can earn free Instant Pay transfers as an Elite Runner when you complete at least 100 Favors per month!

Payment status

You can view a full breakdown of your earnings and track the status of your payments anytime in the Runner app. All of your earnings will fall into one of these categories:

  • Waiting for Customer: Customers have until the next day to pay for a Favor. Once the customer has paid and confirmed your tip, your earnings will be available for deposit.
  • Ready to Deposit: You can transfer earnings from this balance anytime with Instant Pay. Any earnings that are not transferred using Instant Pay will be automatically deposited into your checking account weekly.
  • Transferring: Your earnings are either being transferred via Instant Pay or weekly deposit.
  • Deposited: Success! Your earnings have been deposited to your debit card or checking account.

Any earnings marked Ready to Deposit after the weekly deposit has been processed will remain in your available balance. You can transfer earnings from this balance anytime with Instant Pay or wait for the next automatic weekly deposit.

Don’t see your deposit? On rare occasions, weekly deposits can take up to seven business days to transfer or you may see a failed deposit. This indicates your bank has rejected the transfer, usually due to incorrect account information.

To update your bank account information:

  • Log in to the Runner app
  • Tap the Runner menu icon (three lines) in the top left corner of the screen
  • Select Settings
  • Select Deposit Preferences
  • Enter your bank account information

Once you’ve updated your information, any earnings from failed deposits will be included in your next weekly or Instant Pay deposit.
